Steve Nash, one of the best point guards of all time, as suffered numerous injuries since joining the Lakers. It was announced during the preseason that he would be forced to miss the entire regular season die to a nerve issue in his back. Click here to read more about Nash’s injury.
The Lakers have already had three players go down with season ending injuries. Julius Randle broke his leg in his first game of his career and is out for the year. While the Lakers received a 1.5 million dollar exception they would have much rather had Randle on the floor this year.
More recently the Lakers lost swingman Xavier Henry for the season due to a torn achilles tendon. For more on the Henry injury click here.
The Lakers can use the two exceptions for two players but the money cannot be combined. If they do not use the money before March 10, the exceptions will expire. It will be very interesting to see who the Lakers bring in as there are holes in multiple positions.
For now the Lakers will focus their attention to their next opponent, the Memphis Grizzlies. They will take on the Grizzlies at Staples Center tomorrow night. Click here to read the preview.
