Lakers Get Scorched By The Suns, 137-101

The Los Angeles Lakers stumbled out of the gate, on their way to a 137-101 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Devin Booker started early and Eric Bledsoe finished off Los Angeles scoring 23 and 25 points, respectively. Los Angeles was very sluggish, scoring only 15 points in the first quarter. D’Angelo Russell and Lou Williams both scored 21 points to lead the team in scoring. Julius Randle added a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

The 36 point win for Phoenix was one of the best wins, in a very dismal season. The Suns are now one game behind Los Angeles in the NBA’s Pacific Division.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

Two key factors in this lopsided loss, Los Angeles only shot 34.6% from the floor. The Suns outrebounded the Lakers 66-42, in the win.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The team will have some time off for the All-Star break and will travel to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on February 24th. Los Angeles finished the first half of the season with a 19-39 record.
