Lakers Comeback Falls Short In Memphis

The Los Angeles Lakers scored 37 fourth-quarter points but fell short against the Memphis Grizzlies on MLK Day 123-114. Memphis snapped Los Angeles’ four-game winning streak with the win.
For the Lakers, they were without rookie point guard Lonzo Ball and second-year forward Brandon Ingram due to various injuries. Tyler Ennis and Josh Hart got the start.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored a game-high 27 points, while Kyle Kuzma scored 18 points off the bench. Larry Nance Jr. recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Hart chipped in 16 points.
For Memphis, they saw eight players reach double figures. Dillon Brooks led the way with 19 points. Marc Gasol added 17, while Tyreke Evans flirted with a triple-double as he had 15 points, 12 assists, and 9 rebounds.
JaMychal Green added 11 points, James Ennis III scored 13 off the bench with Wayne Selden Jr. chipping 13 as well. Deyonta Davis and Jarell Martin scored 10 a piece for the Grizzlies.
Los Angeles struggled on the defensive side of the ball all night long.
Los Angeles will take on Paul George, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, and the rest of the Thunder on Wednesday night on ESPN at 5:00 p.m. PST
