Yi is a former first round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks back in the 2997 NBA Draft. He spent five years in the NBA never really make a mark.
He then returned to China where he is one of their best players. He had a starring role on the National team this summer and that is where he sparked interest from the Lakers.
Yi was suppose to be the next big Chinese basketball player after Yao Ming and struggled to fill those shoes. It will be interesting to see what type of role he plays with Luke Walton and Los Angeles next season.
