Lakers Can’t Overcome Slow Start, Fall To Grizzlies 112-96
- Updated: December 28, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t overcome a slow start on Sunday night and fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 112-96 on Sunday night.
Kobe Bryant seemed like the only Laker player to show up in the first quarter. He scored 14 points on 5/9 shooting including 2 three pointers but the Lakers were outscored 32-23 and never were able to claw back.
Bryant ended the night with 19 points. Larry Nance Jr. had his best game of his career. He scored 17 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson also added 12 points, and D’Angelo Russell reached double figures off the bench with 10 points.
Mike Conley lead the Grizzlies with 19 points. Jeff Green and Marc Gasol also reached double figures with 17 and 16 points. Courtney Lee also scored 13 points.
Zach Randolph and Mario Chalmers reached double figures as well off the bench with 16 and 11 points. Last night’s issue was.. you guessed it the Laker defense.
Memphis shot 56% from the field and that just won’t get the job done. The Lakers’ struggles continued on the offensive end as well as they shot just 38% from the field, and 28% from three point land.
Los Angeles will try to rebound when they take on the Hornets tonight in Charlotte.
