Lakers Can’t Hang With Spurs

@spurs

The Lakers were utterly humiliated in San Antonio Thursday night, allowing 134 points and losing by a 40-point margin.

Kawhi Leonard scored 31 for the Spurs on 10-13 shooting. He also tallied two boards and two assists. Pau Gasol dropped 22 on an absurd 9-9 mark from the field. He was a rebound shy of a double-double.

Julius Randle had a nice night for the Lakers, with 22 pts on 13 shots over 34 minutes. Clarkson and Williams each finished in double figures as well.

The Spurs are an elite team, but this was a very discouraging performance and not even remotely close to competitive. The Lakers trailed for the entirety of this game.

It was the 16th consecutive game in which the Spurs eclipsed the 100-point mark.

Despite the rough night, Julius Randle continues to solidify the progress in his development. Randle averaged a double-double during the 2015-16 regular season, but is averaging roughly two points more this season at 13.7 per game. Randle’s also proving his worth on the boards with 8.7 RPG.

134-94 was your final. San Antonio put up 34+ points in each of the first three-quarters before playing it conservative in the final frame. The Spurs shot an unheard of 60.5% from the field.

The Lakers and Clippers will face off tomorrow night.
