Lakers Beat The Nuggets For The First Time This Season, 120-116

For the first time this season, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets, 120-116.
A very close and hard-fought game in which Los Angeles was able to steal a win at the end. Los Angeles led by Nick Young with 23 points. Young also led the team from the three-point range, hitting 5 of 8 shots. Los Angeles had five players in double figures in scoring, including a career night from Ivica Zubac. Zubac scored 17 points and was an amazing 8 of 9 from the floor, in the 21 minutes of playing time.
Despite not having Julius Randle who sat out his second straight game recovering from an illness, the Lakers used Tarik Black in the starting lineup for the second time this season. Black played 18 minutes, scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Los Angeles overcame the third quarter woes in this game, outscoring the Nuggets 27-17 in the period, but was outscored by the Nuggets 40-39 in the fourth quarter.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:
Los Angeles was able to grab the win over the Denver Nuggets because of their great shooting from the floor. The team shot 52.8% and produced 30 more points in the paint, outscoring Denver 64-34.
NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:
The team will start an eight-game road trip on Ground Hogs Day night starting in Washington DC. The Lakers (17-34) will take on John Wall and the Wizards that have one of the best home records in the NBA.
