Kobe Bryant was not going to be held scoreless in the first half again as he put up 15 points in the first quarter alone, igniting the crowd at Verizon Center. Bryant ended up with 29 points on 8-22 shooting.

The Lakers led by as many as 11 in the first half but the Wizards closed on a 16-4 run to lead 54-52 at halftime.

The Lakers shot the ball poorly at under 39%, but the three-ball was still falling as they shot 41.4% on 12-29 shooting. Nick Young led the Lakers bench once again with his excellent shooting ability, hitting 5 3-pointers and finishing with 21 points. Jeremy Lin failed to score a basket as he was 0-10 from the field.

The Lakers gave up 56 points in the paint, led by Marcin Gortat as he posted 21 points and 11 rebounds. Bradley Beal powered the Washington Wizards with a 27-point game while Kris Humphries was a monster on the glass with 20 rebounds.

In the final two minutes of the game, the Lakers battled within 4 points but the Wizards sealed the win with a late 13-2 run.

The Lakers suffered their first loss to the Eastern Conference this season and fall to a 5-14 record. The Washington Wizards now have a 4-game winning streak against the Lakers and improve to 12-5.
