Kelly is a former second round pick of the Lakers back in 2014. He played his college ball at Duke University.
Kelly is a power forward who can play the small forward in certain lineups. He has played in just 8 games so far this year.
With Julius Randle, Brandon Bass, and Larry Nance Jr. all getting playing time at the power forward slot Kelly has struggled to see action on the floor.
With the move to the D-League, Kelly should be able to hone his skills and get in a rhythm. The D-Fenders will take on the San Antonio Spurs affiliate, the Austin Spurs. You can watch the game on Youtube.
