Lakers Add Dwight Buycks On 10-Day Contract

According to Serena Winters of Lakers Nation the Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent guard Dwight Buycks to a 10-day contract.

The Lakers announced yesterday that starting guard Wayne Ellington would be shut down for the rest of the year due to a grade one shoulder separation.

Buycks’ the Wisconsin native played in college ball at Marquette. He appeared in 14 games for the Toronto Raptors last season. He was then cut by the Raptors in July and went and played overseas.

After stints in the Spanish ACB League and the Chinese Basketball Association Buycks return to the states where he was acquired by the Oklahoma City Blue.

Buycks shined with the Blue averaging 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in his 10 games before receiving the GATORADE call-up from the Lakers.

Buycks did not play in the Lakers game against the Trail Blazers last night but is expected to make his Laker debut on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
