LA Kings Take On Washington Capitals
- Updated: February 16, 2016
The LA Kings will travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Washington Capitals. Washington is one of the best teams in the league and have a familiar face or two on the roster.
Mike Richards was part of the two Stanley Cups. Richards also had a sharp decline and was due a ton of money. He was in the minors and was arrested in Canada when Dean Lombardi found a loophole and settled a grievance to get rid of Richards.
Los Angeles and Justin Williams couldn’t agree on a deal and Williams left for the Caps. If there is ever a team I don’t want to play in a game 7 with it’s this year’s Washington Capitals. Williams put in a good word and Richards is back in the NHL and this will be the first time Richards will face the Kings since the fallout.
Los Angeles comes into the game with a 33-19-3 record while the Caps have a 40-10-4 clip. The Kings don’t have Marian Gaborik and could be without him until the playoffs.
At the time of this writing it is unknown who will be in goal tonight. Jonathan Quick has being dealing with an injury and Peter Budaj and Jhonas Enroth have taken over the goaltending duties.
Washington is led by Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nicklas Backstrom, and Alex Ovechkin. Kuznetsov is leading the team with 56 points, 15 goals and 41 assists.
Backstrom is second on the team with 53 points, 17 goals and 36 assists. Ovechkin has 49 points on the season, 35 goals and 14 assists.
Tonight’s game will be a battle and we’re looking forward to it! Let’s get this win LA Kings!
