LA Kings Slowed Down By Avs Fall 4-1

The LA Kings took on the Colorado Avalanche last night looking to continue their winning streak but fell 4-1. Jonathan Quick who just won NHL’s first star was not in goal last night.
The first period was a back and forth contest for both sides. The Kings took 7 shots on goal while the Avs took 10 but there were no goals scored by either side.
In the second period Tyson Barrie got the Avs on the board. He scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Matt Duchene and Blake Comeau and the Avs held a 1-0 lead.
Tyler Toffoli answered back with a slapshot goal of his own. Anze Kopitar and Jake Muzzin were credited with the assist and the score was tied at 1-1.
Barrie responded with his second goal of the period with a wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Andreas Martinsen and after the second period the Avs led 4-1.
It didn’t take long for the Avs to find the back of the net again in the third period. Duchene scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Barrie and Gabriel Landeskog and the Avs led 3-1.
Jarome Iginla scored a wrist shot goal to cap off the night. It was his 600th career goal and was assisted by Barrie and Comeau and Kings fell 4-1.
Up next for Los Angeles is the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night at the Staples Center.
