- Updated: January 11, 2016
The LA Kings will take on the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night at the Staples Center. Los Angeles is coming off a tough loss in a shootout to the Blues over the weekend.
Los Angeles comes into this game with a 26-12-3 record, while the Red Wings have a 22-13-7 clip. Detroit is undefeated since the calendar turned to 2016. They are currently on a four game winning streak.
For the Red Wings Jakub Kindl cleared waivers yesterday. Kyle Quincey is expected to return to the lineup tonight so Kindl is the odd man out. Jimmy Howard is expected to be in goal for the Red Wings tonight.
Coach Jeff Blashill doesn’t like playing his goaltenders in back to back nights. Petr Mrazek was in goal last night for Detroit when they beat the Anaheim Ducks 2-1.
Detroit is lead by Henrik Zetterberg and Dylan Larkin. Zetterberg leads the team with 30 points, 7 goals and 23 assists. Larkin is second on the team with 29 points, 14 goals and 15 assists.
