LA Kings Hire Dave Lowry As An Assistant Coach

According to John Shannon of Hockey Central the Los Angeles Kings have hired Dave Lowry as an assistant coach.
Big day for assistant coaches in the NHL. Scott Stevens resigns. Dave Lowry and Scott Gomez get jobs. LA and NYI respectively.

Lisa Dillman of NHL.com also reported the news.

Dillman reported further information.
Dave Lowry finished his NHL playing career with the Calgary Flames. Also his son Joel was drafted in 2011 in the fifth round by the Kings.

Lowry has an extensive resume as he has coached in the NHL and WHL. Lowry was named coach of the year in the WHL and had a long playing career in the NHL.
Lowry played for the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks, and Calgary Flames throughout his career.
