Payne has extensive coaching experience as a head coach and an assistant. He was a head coach in the ECHL, AHL, and brief time in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues.
Payne is just the latest of LA Kings personnel that has been moved out. Payne is a good coach and should be able to find his way with another club.
