LA Kings Fall In Detroit 3-2

The LA Kings were unable to get a victory in Detroit on Friday night as they fell to the Red Wings 3-2. It was just the second loss on the road for the Kings this season.

Detroit got on the board first when Tomas Tatar scored a snap shot goal in the first period. His goal was assisted by justin Abdelkader and Henrik Zetterberg and the Red Wings lead 1-0.

2 minutes later Jeff Carter responded with a backhand goal that tied the game. Carter’s goal was assisted by Anze Kopitar and Alec Martinez. After the first period the game was tied at 1-1.

In the second period Mike Green scored a wrist shot goal that put the Red Wings on top 2-1. His goal went unassisted. A few minutes later Dylan Larkin scored a snap shot goal. Abdelkader and Zetterberg were credited with the assists.

Later in the second period Carter scored his second goal of the game. Tyler Toffoli and Jake Muzzin were credited with the assists.

The LA Kings were unable to score in the 3rd period as they fell 3-2. Jhonas Enroth was in goal for Los Angeles. He made 26 saves for a 90% save ratio.

For Detroit Petr Mrazek was in goal. He made 35 saves for a 95% save ratio.

The Kings will take on the Carolina Hurricanes are Sunday morning.
