Kopitar Lifts Kings Over Red Wings

The Los Angeles Kings used two goals from Anze Kopitar and 23 saves from Jonathan Quick to beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Tuesday night. For Los Angeles, they have now won two in a row.

The offense got started in the first period where Detroit scored their only goal of the night. Mike Green scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Frans Nielsen and Darren Helm to give Detroit the early 1-0 lead.

After the first period, it was all Los Angeles on the scoreline. Dustin Brown scored a snapshot goal that was assisted by Kopitar and Christian Folin. Kopitar capped off the period with the go head snapshot goal that was assisted by Drew Doughty and Alec Martinez and the Kings led 2-1.

Less than a minute into the third period Adrian Kempe scored a wrist shot goal. Marian Gaborik and Oscar Fantenberg were credited with the assists. Kopitar ended the night with his second goal that was assisted by Doughty and Muzzin.

Los Angeles will continue their road trip in Washington on Thursday night.
