2. Julius Randle

The one bright spot of the Lakers rough season would have been Randle but he got hurt in game one of the season and was forced to miss the entire year. He has taken the time off to not only get healthy but to get his body right for NBA basketball. He’s lost weight, and he’s worked on his extending his range which never hurts an offense. Especially an offense that was unable to connect on the shots from behind the arch. What happen to that saying, chicks dig the long ball?  The addition of healthy Randle serves another plus for the Lakers.

3.  Lou Williams, Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass

Lou Williams, Hibbert and Brandon Bass serve as the Lakers 2015 free agent class. I know, I know these aren’t stars by any means, but they are solid players. Williams is coming off a season where he won the 6th man of the year and can really put the ball in basket. Averaging almost 16 points per game of the bench he should be able to add depth to a team that to be honest lacked talent.

Hibbert is a 2-time All-Star and for most of his career has been known as one of the best defensive bigs in the league. He will serve as a rim protector and a enforcer in the paint. He had a falling out period in his last season with the Indiana Pacers and understands this is an opportunity for him. With one year left on his contract if he plays well he can play his way into a long-term deal with the Lakers or get a huge deal next summer. It works out for both parties if Hibbert plays well and he has lost weight as well to increase his lateral quickness on the defensive end.

Brandon Bass is what I like to call a players pro. He’s been around the block and part of some great winning teams. From his time in Dallas, to Orlando, to Boston he is a great locker room guy with a well-known work ethic. Watching Magic games at the old Amway Center my friends and I would also question who was stronger… Dwight Howard or Brandon Bass? He takes great care of his body and has played in 80+ games each of the last 3 years. He will be a great mentor for Julius Randle.
