In a recent interview Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant was quoted saying that he believes that the Lakers can make the playoffs this season. Is he being honest or just being Kobe? The ultra competitive and confident Kobe that all know and love? Or a Kobe that is in denial of the truth?
For starters the Lakers should be better than last year, we all hope at least. I don’t need to go into all the statistics about how bad we really were or how painful it was to watch. This upcoming season there are a few things to look forward to.
1. D’Angelo Russell
Whether you want to act like you saw it coming or not the Lakers did, well what the Lakers do. Instead of picking the “sure thing” with the number two pick and selecting Jahlil Okafor the Lakers went with the guy who has the most star potential. They selected Russell and fans who wanted Okafor need to let that go and focus on Russell and his development not how good Okafor is now. Yes I know that Okafor stole the show in the summer league and Russell struggled but I wise man once told me good things come to those who wait. On the basketball side this is an addition of young talent for a roster last season that only had Jordan Clarkson and Tarik Black as prospects to really watch and grow.
