Knicks Spoils Russell’s Return

@LakersGrrrrl

The Los Angeles Lakers got one of their young stars back from injury but the team still went down to defeat,
118-112 to the New York Knicks.

D’Angelo Russell returned to the Lakers starting lineup but was limited to 17 minutes scoring only 3 points. It was a big boost to the team’s momentum but the result on the court was the same. The Lakers have now lost six straight games.

Lou Williams led the way for the team in scoring again with 24 points coming off the bench. Williams was a perfect 10 for 10 from the free-throw line. Luol Deng had a great night and one of his best since joining the Lakers, scoring 22 points and he led the team with beyond the arc hitting 5 of 8 shots.
Julius Randle gave the team the only double-double in statistics scoring 17 points and leading the team in rebounding with 10.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

Another game in which the Lakers have turned the ball over to their opponents. In this game, the Lakers committed 15 turnovers. In the six-game losing streak, the Lakers have led the turnover margin in five of those games.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The Lakers (10-16), will travel up to Sacramento to face the slumping Kings. The Kings (8-15) are coming off a disappointing 20-point loss to the Utah Jazz. The Lakers are still holding on to the third spot in the NBA’s Pacific Division.
