Kings Ink Tom Gilbert

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet the Los Angeles Kings have signed former Montreal Canadiens defensemen Tom Gilbert to a one year deal worth 1.4 million dollars.

Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com also reported the news.

Gilbert is a former fourth round pick of the Colorado Avalanche back in the 2002 NHL Draft. The 33-year old spent his first six seasons with the Edmonton Oilers.

After Edmonton he played for the Minnesota Wild, Florida Panthers, and Montreal Canadiens. Last season with the Canadiens he played in 45 games totaling 3 points with an average ice time of 16:52.
