Kings Fall In Overtime 2-1

For the second straight night the Los Angeles Kings fell in overtime, this time to the Calgary Flames 2-1. Veteran goaltender Ben Bishop made his debut as a King a suffered the loss.
Tanner Pearson got the Kings on the board in the first period with a wrist shot goal.His goal was assisted by Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter and gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead. Los Angeles outshot the Flames 11-8 in the period.
It was all Flames in the second period. Micheal Ferland scored a slap shot goal midway through the period. His goal was assisted by Mark Giordano and the game was tied a 1-1. Calgary outshot Los Angeles 13-6 in the period.
The third period was back and fourth but Los Angeles ended up with more shots on goal 12-8. Neither side could take advantage of their opportunities and game went to overtime.
Less than two minutes into the overtime period T.J. Brodie scored a backhanded goal that was assisted by Mikael Backlund and the Flames took the victory over Los Angeles 2-1. Bishop made 28 saves for a .933 save percentage, while Brian Elliott made 28 saves for a .966 save percentage.
Los Angeles will look to rebound from the loss on Thursday night when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
