Kings Fall To Maple Leafs 3-2

The Los Angeles Kings took on the Maple Leafs in Toronto and fell by a score of 3-2 on Monday night. For Los Angeles, it was their first loss in regulation on the season.

The offense got started in the first period for the Leafs when Matt Martin scored a slap shot goal. It was assisted by Roman Polak and Mitchell Marner. After the first period, the Leafs lead 1-0.

In the second period, Tyler Bozak increased the lead with a wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by James Van Riemsdyk and Marner. Later in the period, Adrian Kempe got the Kings on the board with a wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Trevor Lews and Drew Doughty.

It was Patrick Marleau in the third period that pushed the lead to 3-1 for the Leafs. Morgan Rielly and Nazem Kadri were credited with the assists.

Trevor Lewis scored an unassisted backhand goal to trim the lead to 3-2 but the Kings were not able to overcome the deficit. Los Angeles will take on the Ottawa Senators tonight at 4:30 p.m. PST
