The Los Angeles Kings lost yet another shootout tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. Although the Kings are on a home stand they have not been able to find the groove. In their last game they lost to the New York Rangers at home 4-3.

It has been a habit for the Kings to fall behind early. Tonight was no different as the Jets were first on the board. Mathieu Perreault scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Michael Frolik and Dustin Byfuglien. Less than a minute later the Jets struck again. This time Bryan Little scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd.

With the Kings already down 2-0, Wheeler added insult to injury as he scored a slap shot goal that was a assisted by Perreault and Byfuglien. This made the score 3-0 early and had a lot of fans anger from the start.

Anze Kopitar was named an All-Star today, and he gave the Kings their first goal of the game. His wrist shot goal was assisted by fellow All-Star Drew Doughty and Marian Gaborik. A minutue and a half later, Justin Williams scored a goal that was assisted by Jake Muzzin and Doughty. The Kings left the first period down 3-2.

The second period was a period where no goals were scored. The Kings however took 11 shots on goal, the most of any period tonight and were unable to convert.

In the third period Gaborik opened up the period with a wrist shot goal to tie the game. Kyle Clifford scored a wrist goal of his own that gave the Kings the lead and put smiles on Kings fans faces.

To the displeasure of fans at Staples Center Zach Bogosian scored a wrist shot goal for the Jets that would force overtime. Neither team was able to score in the overtime period which led to a shoot out.

Bryan Little scored the lone goal in the shoot out and the Jets beat the Kings 5-4. Up next for the Kings is the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night at Staples Center.
