Kings Fall In Hole Early; Lose To Flames 2-1

The Los Angeles Kings fell to the Calgary Flames tonight in a tightly contested battle 2-1. While the Kings were coming off a great win against their rival San Jose Sharks on Saturday tonight was not the same result.
The Flames put the Kings in a hole in the first period and that was enough to seal the win. Curtis Glencross scored a early goal that was assisted by Jiri Hudler and Sean Monahan.
A minute later they scored again that put the Kings down 2-0. This time Markus Granlund scored his fifth goal of the season that was assisted by Jiri Hudler and Johnny Gaudreau.
In the second period Tyler Toffoli scored his 12th goal of the year to trim the lead to 2-1. The goal was assisted by Dustin Brown and Trevor Lewis.
The Kings missed out on some opportunities to tie the score in the third period and would fall to the Flames 2-1. The Kings outshot their opponent, tonight 27-15. Jonathan Quick made 13 saves, compared to Jonas Hiller’s 26 saves.
The Kings will take on the Edmonton Oilers tomorrow tonight at Rexall Palace at 6:30 p.m. PST.
