@SportsQuotient

According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News University of Connecticut head coach Kevin Ollie is intrigued by the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching vacancy.

Ollie is one of the most respected coaches in the college ranks right now. In his second year as a head coach he won the 2014 National Championship with the likes of Shabazz Napier on his team.

Ollie has a strong relationship with Oklahoma City superstar Kevin Durant who is on the top of list for the Lakers this summer as they look to rebuild their roster. Durant and Ollie played together in Oklahoma City at the end of Ollie’s playing career.

Ollie is on the long list of candidates that the Lakers will most likely interview for the job. Former Lakers Derek Fisher and Luke Walton are also strong candidates for the job.
