Kenley Jansen Plans Offseason Surgery

According to J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Kenley Jansen is planning on having offseason heart surgery.
Kenley Jansen said he’ll throw a bullpen this week. That’s the good news. The bad news: he was told there’s a good chance he will need another open-heart surgery in the off-season.

Hoornstra reported further information.
It would be the same procedure (atrial fibrillation) he had six years ago to correct an irregular heartbeat.

Jansen said the recurrence of heart issues in Denver might not be altitude-related. “I’m going back to Denver. Can’t be scared of life.”
