Justin Turner’s 3-Run Blast, Lifts Dodgers Over Cubs 5-2

Justin Turner hit a 3-run home run in the 3rd inning and that was the difference as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2 Wednesday night.  After losing the first two games at Wrigley the Dodgers were able to bounce back tonight.

Mike Bolsinger got the start for the Dodgers. He pitched 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs. He also struck out 6 and walked 2.

On the other side Kyle Hendricks got the start for the Cubs. He pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 1 in his outing.

The offense got started in the 2nd inning when Adrian Gonzalez hit a solo shot to left center field. This was his 13th of the year and the Dodgers took a 1-0 lead.

In the second inning it was Turner’s turn. He hit his 10th home run of the year, a 3-run blast that brought in Bolsinger and Joc Pederson. After 3 innings the Dodgers lead 4-0.

In the 5th inning Addison Russell hit a RBI double that brought in Mike Baxter. Anthony Rizzo grounded into a double play that brought in Chris Denorfia. After 5 innings the Dodgers held a 4-2 advantage.

The Dodgers stuck once again in the 8th inning. Pederson hit a RBI single that brought in Scott Van Slyke and the Dodgers held on to win 5-2.

Kenley Jansen came on in the 9th inning to pick up the save. The Dodgers and Cubs will conclude their series tomorrow afternoon at 11:20 p.m. PST
