To many peoples surprise Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons just flat out waived Smith after the slow start for the team. If Smith clears waivers in 48 hours he will be able to sign wherever he wants.
According to Marc Stein, the Los Angeles Clippers will reach out to him.
Also hearing that the Los Angeles Clippers will make a run at Josh Smith, but Clips — like Mavs — have only minimum dollars to offer

Connor Alway talked about the Clippers small forward problem, and the Clippers may be able to solve that issue if they are able to sign Josh Smith.
The Clippers do not have much money to offer Smith, and multiple teams have shown interest in the athletic forward. The Rockets and Mavericks are both interested. It is well known that Dwight Howard and Josh Smith are both good friends. Rajon Rondo and Smith are also known to get along quite well so the Mavericks are legitimate option too.
On the other hand, the Sacramento Kings have been pursuing Smith since early June, so they will target his services as well.
