Johnson underwent Tommy John surgery last season and is currently on the disabled list with the elbow injury. He threw in a simulated game about a week ago and has not pitched since due to the soreness.
He is scheduled to pitch later in the week and could be getting closer to a return to the lineup. Brock reported that the Padres supported his simulated game last week.
Cool moment here at Petco Park; all of Josh Johnson’s teammates out watching is simulated game. Coming back from TJ on 4/24/14. #Padres
