Josh Hamilton made his return trip to Anaheim Friday night after being traded earlier in the year and beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-2. Hamilton was dealt for well documented off the field issues and made his presence felt tonight.
Nick Tropeano got the start for the Halos. He pitched 6 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 1. His efforts gained him his first loss of the season.
For the Rangers Colby Lewis pitched 7.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 9 and walked 1 as he picked up his 10th win of the season.
After 3 scoreless innings Mike Trout hit a 420 foot bomb to left center field that gave the Angels a 1-0 lead. It was his 29th home run of the season.
In the 5th inning Josh Hamilton scored on a Tropeano throwing error that tied the game. Shin-Soo Choo hit a RBI double that brought in Elvis Andrus. Robinson Chirinos followed with a RBI single and the Rangers held a 3-1 advantage.
The Rangers pushed another one across in the 7th inning off of a sacrifice to the pitcher and held a 4-1 lead.
Shawn Tolleson came on in the 9th inning and picked up his 16th save of the season.
The Angels and Rangers will continue their series tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. PST
