Jonathan Quick Shutouts Out Canucks, Kings Win 4-0

The Los Angeles Kings shutout the Vancouver Canucks tonight 4-0. Jonathan Quick recorded his fifth shutout of the season in the first matchup of three between the two sides the rest of the year. Tonight’s victory pushed the Kings to a two game winning streak as they beat the Colorado Avalanche in their last game.
Tyler Toffoli scored the opening goal with a wrist shot that was assisted by Justin Williams and Jake Muzzin. That was the only goal of the first period as the Canucks did have more shots on goal, 9-4.
In the second period it was Williams who scored a wrist shot goal of his own. Brayden McNabb was credited with the assist as well as Nick Shore. The Kings controlled the period and went in the final period with a 2-0 advantage.
In the first 25 seconds of the third period Anze Kopitar scored a wrist shot goal that gave the Kings a commanding 3-0 lead. Marian Gaborik scored an empty net goal to finish off the Canucks 4-0. His goal was assisted by Kopitar and Trevor Lewis.
Quick made 19 saves tonight in the win. Eddie Lack was in goal for the Canucks and made 16 saves but allowed the three goals.
The Kings will head home for a game against the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.Fans can tune in and watch the game on FSWHD.
