John Wall and the Washington Wizards used a big fourth quarter to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 98-92 tonight. The Lakers have been struggling as tonight’s loss pushes their losing streak to nine in a row.

With Ronnie Price and Kobe Bryant sidelined with injuries the Lakers backcourt looks a little bit different. Jordan Clarkson and Wayne Ellington did their job for the team tonight. Clarkson finished with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Ellington finished with 28 points to lead all scorers.

For the Wizards John Wall came to play. Wall was one rebound shy of a triple-double. He scored 21 points had 9 rebounds and 13 assists. Bradley Beal also chipped in 19 points and Marcin Gortat scored 11.

The Wizards dominated the rebounding battle tonight. They out-rebounded the Lakers 51-38, which will not get the job done. With all the rebounds the Wizards were able to get to the free line more but they only shot 18/27 from the charity stripe.

The Lakers were without Nick Young as he was out with a sprained ankle injury.

Up next for the Lakers is the Chicago Bulls at home on Thursday night. It will be Pau Gasol first trip back to the Staples Center to take on the Lakers since opting to join the Bulls this summer.

Fans will be able to watch that game on TNT.
