Jhonas Enroth Notches First Shutout Of Year, Kings Win 3-0

Jhonas Enroth notched his first shutout of the year and the Los Angeles Kings beat the St.Louis Blues 3-0 on Tuesday night. The Kings were coming off a loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and looked to right the ship.

In the first period neither time was able to find the back of the net. The Kings outshot the Blues 12-5 but it didn’t matter as the goaltenders stole the show.

Jeff Carter got the Kings on the board with a wrist shot goal late in the second period. The power play goal was Carter’s 5th of the year. Drew Doughty and Christian Ehrhoff were credited with the assist.

With the Kings leading 1-0 heading into the 3rd period they looked to seal the deal. Tanner Pearson scored a wrist shot goal late in the period. For Pearson it was his second of the year. Brayden McNabb and Tyler Toffoli were credited with the assist.

As time ran out for the Blues they pulled their goalie and the Kings found the back of the yet once more. Trevor Lewis scored the final goal of the game. For Lewis it was his second of the year as well. Pearson was credited with the assist.

For the Kings Jhonas Enroth was goal instead of Jonathan Quick. Enroth recorded his first shutout of the year, his 6th of his career. He made 24 saves.

On the other side Jake Allen made 31 saves for the Blues. His 94% save ratio was not good enough to give his club the win.

Up next the Kings will travel back to Los Angeles to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
