Jered Weaver Heads To DL

According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Angels have placed starting pitcher Jered Weaver on the disabled list due to hip irritation.

Weaver will undergo a MRI on Monday to find out further information about the hip DiGiovanna reported via Twitter.

#Angels P Jered Weaver will have MRI and several tests Monday. Hope is that there’s no tear and only inflammation.

The Los Angeles Angels official Twitter account reported the news as well.

Today the Club placed Jered Weaver on the 15-day DL with left hip inflammation and recalled OF Alfredo Marte from Triple-A Salt Lake. — Angels (@Angels) June 21, 2015

Weaver has been struggling this season thus far. He sports a 4-8 record with a 4.75 ERA.
