J.J. Redick Launches Podcast

Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick launched his own podcast last night on The Vertical Podcast with Yahoo Sports. With the launch Redick becomes the first current NBA player who has his own podcast.

Redick discusses broad number of topics including the Blake Griffin situation. For his first guest he brought on former teammate Jared Dudley.

Redick thanked Redick for his help in his first podcast.

For Dudley and Redick they spoke about when they wanted to become a NBA player and life after basketball. Dudley discussed the difference between the transition into coaching or the broadcast booth versus the NBA front office.

As a young professional who wants to work in a front office Dudley saw the challenge of being an executive in the front office. He mentioned the climb to the general manager role takes years of service to get there where he could make the jump to coaching in college much easier.

Redick and Dudley played against each other throughout college in the ACC and talked about some of those classic battles.

J.J. Redick discussed some interesting tactics for shootarounds for different teams as well as being in the right situation as a player. He tweeted his thoughts on that issue.

But control what you can control as a player- i.e. work, attitude, being a good teammate, studying playbook/film, etc.

Jared Dudley discussed what his thoughts were when he was traded to the Clippers and what went wrong in that situation.
