Injury Report: Denver Broncos v San Diego Chargers
- Updated: October 23, 2014
It is the night we look forward to all week and tonight the San Diego Chargers will take on the Denver Broncos in Week 8.
Remember the Chargers win against the Broncos last December? Well the San Diego Chargers will definitely be keeping that in mind as they prepare for tonight’s game. In that game Philip Rivers threw just 20 passes, completing 12 of them for 166 yards, and the San Diego Chargers completely punished Denver with its ground game. Here’s a stat for you to boost your confidence going into tonight’s’ game, “Ryan Mathews ran 29 times for 127 yards and a touchdown, and the Chargers out rushed the Broncos 177-18 in ending a four-game losing streak to Denver.”
Although Mathews is out with a sprained MCL, back up Branden Oliver has taken over and stepped into the lead role. He is rushing for 316 yards and two touchdowns while posting a 4.7 yards-per-carry average in three games as the feature back. Oliver will come face-to-face with a Broncos run defense that is ranked third in the NFL with 74.3 yards allowed per game, which is significantly better than the team’s 101.6 mark of last season.
