Ichiro Breaks Hit Record, Padres Win 6-3

Ichiro Suzuki broke Pete Rose‘s record of career hits last night but the San Diego Padres prevailed and beat the Miami Marlins 6-3.
For the Padres Luis Perdomo got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. She also walked 2 and struck out 4 as he picked up his second win of the year.
On the other side Justin Nicolino got the start. He pitched just 4.2 innings allowing 10 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 3 and allowed 1 home run as he picked up his fourth loss of the year.
The offense got started in the first inning when Christian Yelich hit a RBI single that brought in Suzuki. This gave the Marlins a early 1-0 lead.
In the second inning Melvin Upton Jr. hit a solo home run. For Upton it was his 9th home run of the year and tied the score at 1-1.
In the fourth inning J.T. Realmuto hit a RBI single that brought in Marcell Ozuna. Miguel Rojas followed with a sacrifice fly that brought in Justin Bour and the Marlins held a 3-1 lead.
In the bottom half of the inning Ryan Schimpf hit a sacrifice fly to left that brought in Upton.
In the fifth inning Derek Norris hit a 2-run single that brought in Matt Kemp and Yangervis Solarte that gave the Padres the lead 4-3. Upton followed with a RBI single and the Padres led 5-3 after 5.
In the 6th inning Wil Myers hit a RBI double that brought in Jon Jay to give the Padres a little extra cushion. In the 9th inning Fernando Rodney came on and gave up two hits but picked up his 13th save of the year.
San Diego will play host to Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals tonight at Petco Park.
