Houston Rockets Vs. Los Angeles Lakers Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: January 25, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers will return home tonight to host the Houston Rockets. The Lakers are coming off a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, but have suffered a bigger loss with Kobe Bryant being diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff.
Bryant underwent a MRI Friday and reports confirmed all Laker fans fears. Kobe Bryant will most likely miss the rest of the season recovering from his injury. This will mark two seasons in row that he has been put out of play due to an injury.
There is no word as of yet regarding Dwight Howard’s game status after he missed their last game with a sprained right ankle, but Harden is pretty much holding the team down. He is currently the league’s leading scorer with 27.3 a game.
According to the team’s official website, Harden said this about his buzzer beater shot against the Suns:
“It’s a great feeling. They’re a very good team, we had a pretty solid lead and we knew they were going to make a run and they made it at the perfect time. But, we had the last shot. You either make it or you miss it and go into overtime, and I made it.”
Reports are saying Jeremy Lin might not play against his old team, the Houston Rockets, tonight. He sat on the bench and was the only player not to play on Friday. The Lakers gave rookie Jordan Clarkson a chance and he didn’t disappoint, considering the team’s condition. He added 11 points in a personal-high 29 minutes.
“I did a better job of controlling (the pace) today,” Clarkson said. “Now I’ve just got to work on getting guys in their spots and just getting what we want in the half-court offense.”
The Lakers are currently 2-13 at home to Western Conference teams, but let’s hope they can find something in themselves and bring out a win!
