We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the San Diego Padres.
SB Nation writes about the top 5 biggest concerns for the Padres right now:
“Padres fans hadn’t been this excited in years, since the days of Dave Roberts leading off in the NLDS, or maybe even Kevin Brown in the World Series. The new Padres were going to be the best Padres. As the song almost goes: “This will be their year; took a long time to come.”
Cut to the end of May, and the Padres are 21-24. That’s a .467 winning percentage. Let’s check in with the Padres of the last three years and see where that would rank.
2014: .475
2013: .469
2012: .469″

Below is an excerpt of the recap of their game against the Angels:
“The Los Angeles Angels got a walk-off single from Albert Pujols in the bottom of the ninth inning after Mike Trout had been intentionally walked, to earn a 4-3 victory over the San Diego Padres Monday night in Anaheim.
The win pushes the Angels record to 23-22, back over .500 again for a team that came into the year with high expectations.
Similarly, the loss leaves the Padres 21-25, a team going the wrong way in a year that was supposed to see them breakout as a contender in the National League West.
