- Updated: November 29, 2014
We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the San Diego Chargers.
The San Diego Chargers have put their third center on injury list:
“Rich Ohrnberger will undergo back surgery and soon be placed on injured reserve, sources said Monday. Chris Watt, a rookie third-round pick, will have the opportunity to cement himself as the team’s’ center of the future, a vacancy existing there in light of Nick Hardwick’s status.
Ohrnberger did well to play this deep into the year.
His back limited him the past couple months, requiring continuous management on the part of him, the coaches and athletic training staff. He first appeared on the injury report in Week 3 when listed as probable to face the Bills in Buffalo. There was, however, enough concern to warrant the beginning of what became a trend.
Tackle-guard Jeremiah Sirles traveled with the team on road trips, not only gaining the experience of being on the visitor’s sideline but providing the security that, should a Saturday transaction be needed due to Ohrnberger’s condition, someone was there for promotion from the practice squad.

Jarret Johnson tells San Diego Chargers fans ho much it means for him to play on the team:
“Thanksgiving is an important time of year. The main thing I’m thankful for is my family. I have two beautiful girls and an awesome wife. I’m also thankful to be a part of a team like this with awesome players and a bunch of good guys. This has been my dream forever, and I’m living it.
It’s going to be special playing in Baltimore on Sunday because I spent most of my career there, so it’s going to be fun. I’ll have some former teammates and friends there, and I have a lot of good memories playing in that stadium. The best are probably just playing a lot of really good defense and being dominant for a number of years. That was fun to be a part of.
I’ve been around a lot of locker rooms in my career, but this one is special because of our core group. Guys who have been here a long time like Eric Weddle and Philip Rivers, they make it special. It means a lot to me to be a Charger. To leave Baltimore, I didn’t think I’d ever find what I had there again in this league, but I come here and I find it plus some more. So I never thought I’d find in San Diego what I did. I have friends on this team I’ll have the rest of my life. Guys who truly love this game and team, they are special players, so it’s awesome.”
