The San Diego Chargers made an announcement last night that they are close to hiring a replacement for the host of their 2015 broadcast team.

Clear Channel radio, along with the team, are expected to replace their longtime host Hank Baurer with another former Chargers player.

FoxSports.com reports they are close to signing Curtis Conway for the task at hand. He spent 12 years of his life on the field as a NFL player and wide receiver. This included three seasons with the Chargers. His current job includes being a host for the NFL Network and PAC-12 Network.

NBC San Diego writes the following about the story:

Conway, a former first round pick out of USC, is based out of Los Angeles (you can read in to that however you see fit). He would join established play-by-play announcer Josh Lewin for Chargers game broadcasts on Sunday.

By the way, the 44-year-old Conway is married to Laila Ali, former boxing champion and daughter of the legendary Muhammad Ali.”

What do you guys think about this? Will he be a good fit?
