Hollywood Blvd. News – San Diego Chargers Edition

We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the San Diego Chargers.

The Chargers official website writes about the excitement Chase Rettig has for his chance to learn from Philip Rivers:

In fact, his family has a picture of him dressed in full Chargers gear from head to toe as a four year old.

Now, Rettig gets to wear that uniform for a living. After spending last offseason and training camp with the Green Bay Packers, the Bolts signed the former Boston College star shortly before the start of OTAs.  Rettig is grateful the Chargers have given him this opportunity, and is committed to making the most of it.

“I used to watch Chargers, and there is a huge tradition here.  I watched a lot of college football more as a kid, especially the Pac-10, but I rooted for the Chargers and watched Philip Rivers and LT.”

UT San Diego is calling for some civility regarding stadium talks:

“As the Beatles sang, this isn’t the time for fussing and fighting, my friends. So, people, I will ask you once again. Try and see it my way.

We realize that, with the Hatfields on one side and the McCoys on the other, hoping for a lack of fireworks could be a reach. But that’s what hope is for in this battle of the bands. Combat without bullets.

Chargers leader (or whatever instrument he plays now) Dean Spanos and frontman Mark Fabiani and other hotshot members of their heavy metal New Stadium Band will get on stage the first time Tuesday with Mayor Kevin Faulconer, City Attorney Jan Goldsmith, Supervisor Ron Roberts and various virtuosos more into soft rock.”
