For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Kings.
Read an excerpt of the recap from the Kings last game:
“The Los Angeles Kings are called the comeback Kings for a reason and tonight they showed why. After a rocky first half of the season the Kings opened up this second half of the year on the right note.
Tonight’s game was a big rivalry game as the Kings and Blackhawks have been the dominant teams in the Western Conference the last few years. Oh yeah who could forget the fact that these team met in the Western Conference Finals last year.
There has been tons of distractions this week with the Mike Richards situation but tonight the Kings put all of that to the side and went out and got the job done.
Tonight’s game started off on the wrong foot with Patrick Kane scoring the opening goal that was assisted by David Rundblad and Patrick Sharp.”

According to Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun the Calgary Flames and the Los Angeles Kings are discussing a deal that would send Mike Richards to the Flames:
“Richards was waived on Monday by the Kings due to his lack of production and large contract. He was able to clear waivers and was then assigned to the AHL Manchester Monarchs.
The Calgary Flames are one of the few teams in the league that have salary cap space. However, just because the Flames have the cap space doesn’t mean they will just take on Richards contract for nothing.
In order for the Kings to move Richards the Flames might ask for draft picks or another player to make the deal more appealing.”
