We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Kings.

Read an excerpt of the recap from the Kings last game:

“In tonight’s game the Kings were in control most of the way. The first period ended with a 0-0 tie, but the Kings held the advantage in shots on goal 10-3. Although it was not the result Kings fans wanted after the first period there were a lot of positives. For the first time in a long time the Kings did not bury themselves in a hole early on.

The second period was very similar to the first but the Kings were in even more in control. They took 17 shots on goal to the Flames just 6, but were unable to convert once again. There was a span during the second period in which the Flames went ten straight minutes without a shot.

During the third period the Kings finally put a goal in the back of the net. Matt Greene scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Dustin Brown and Trevor Lewis. After two and half periods of no goals the Kings finally took the lead.”

According to Jon Rosen of lakingsinsider.com the Los Angeles Kings have actived Robyn Regehr and placed Martin Jones on the injury reserve:

“Regehr went down with an upper body injury before Christmas and has been out of the lineup since. Reports began to circulate that he was ready to go last week, but he took a few extra days to make sure he was ready to roll.

Regehr spoke to lakingsinsider.com about the matter.

“So I was just working at getting strength back as much as I could and also mobility, too. When you immobilize something for a little while it stiffens up and wasn’t moving quite the way it needed to.”

The Kings are excited to welcome back into the lineup tonight as they take on the Calgary Flames.  Tonight will be a big matchup for both teams as the Kings look forward to ending their recent slump.”
