For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Yasiel Puig returns to the Dodgers lineup after being placed on DL:
“Puig was responsible for the game changing hit that won the Dodgers the game 2-0 against the St. Louis Cardinals. This cam after two not-so-pretty at-bats which ended in strikeouts on seven combined pitches.
Bleacher Report puts it best, “It was a bullet of a double, lined into the right-center gap. He would later score on an infield single by Justin Turner, motoring around third to prove that the hamstring strain that put him on the disabled list for 39 games is no longer lingering.”
The whole team was happy to see him back in the lineup. Catcher A.J. Ellis was quoted saying, “He’s such a talent in the middle of our lineup. It’s great to see him back there again.”

Below is an excerpt from the recap posted on Yahoo Sports.com:
“Clayton Kershaw pitched one of his best games against the St. Louis Cardinals. The only drawback for him and the Los Angeles Dodgers was that the calendar read June instead of October.
The reigning NL MVP and three-time Cy Young Award winner allowed one hit and struck out 11 in eight innings against his postseason nemesis, and the Dodgers beat the Cardinals 2-0 Saturday night with a go-ahead double from Yasiel Puig in his return from the disabled list.
Kershaw (5-3) outpitched Jaime Garcia and lowered his ERA to 3.36. The left-hander led the majors in that category each of the past four seasons.”
