For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Adrian Gonzalez is on fire! So far this season he’s hit 5 home runs in 13 at bats so far this season including three the other night to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers over the San Diego Padres 7-4:
For the Dodgers Brandon McCarthy made his season debut. He pitched 5 innings allowing 9 hits, 4 runs, while striking out 9. It was the Padres who got on the board first. Justin Upton hit a two run shot that scored Matt Kemp to give the Padres a 2-0 lead. This was Upton’s first home run as a Padre.
Andrew Cashner made his season debut for the Padres tonight. He’ll be having some nightmares of Adrian Gonzalez tonight. Cashner pitched 5 innings, allowing 8 hits, 5 runs, while striking out 6.
Gonzalez answered Upton’s home run with one of his own in the first inning. His solo shot trimmed the Padres lead 2-1.

In game two between these National League West rivals resulted in the San Diego Padres getting even from the loss on opening day:
“Tyson Ross (6.0 IP, 4 K’s, 2 ER, 3.00 ERA) faced Zack Greinke (6.0 IP, 4 K’s, 1 ER, 1.50 ERA) who both were on point on the mound. Surprisingly enough Matt Kemp yet again was responsible for the first run scored of the game.
With two outs and a 3-2 count, Greinke nearly struck out Matt Kemp. But it was Kemp who hit a single to center field as he extended the inning. This proved to be a critical at bat as Justin Upton brought in Kemp to score with an RBI triple as San Diego took an early 1-0 lead.
It wasn’t until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to score some runs. Yasiel Puig started the bottom of the sixth as he hit a double with no outs. Adrian Gonzalez who has been hot immediately brought in Puig to score with an RBI double to center field.”
