According to multiple reports, Blake Griffin will be attending and participating in next month’s USA Basketball minicamp in Las Vegas.
Ramona Shelburne confirmed the news after last year’s disappointment which forced Griffin to sit out of the FIBA World Cup due to his back injury.
ESPN.com sources confirm the attendance of the following players:
“Kevin Love will be attending the three-day camp, despite the fact he’s not yet healthy enough to participate, in order to meet the conditions established by USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo. Colangelo told ESPN.com earlier this month that any player who wants to be considered for the 12-man squad that will represent the United States in Brazil next summer must make an appearance in Vegas.
…The newly crowned champion Golden State Warriors expect to have a quartet of players in USAB camp: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and new recruits Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes.
Other confirmed attendees, according to sources, include the Detroit Pistons’ Andre Drummond and Portland Trail Blazers’ Mason Plumlee from the World Cup team last summer, Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal, Utah Jazz’s Gordon Hayward and newcomers Mike Conley(Memphis Grizzlies) and Michael Carter-Williams (Milwaukee Bucks). The recently invited Orlando Magic duo of Tobias Harris and Victor Oladipo is also expected to attend.”
What do you think of Blake heading to camp? Will this affect his season?
