- Updated: October 25, 2014
We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers.
As the regular season approaches, the Clippers face a list of new challenges as they get used to the changes implemented.
“But even though Ballmer’s purchase of the club is signed and sealed as far as the NBA is concerned, the repercussions of the affair linger.
Sterling might not be expected to get far with his remaining anti-trust lawsuit against the league, but in the wake of the scandal a whiff of racism has already affected another team, with Atlanta Hawks co-owner Bruce Levenson moving to sell his controlling interest in the team after racially charged remarks he made in an e-mail two years ago came to light.
Hawks president Danny Ferry has also been disciplined by the club for derogatory comments about British player Luol Deng’s African heritage.
A heightened sensitivity and zero-tolerance policy toward racism may not be the only after-effect of the Sterling saga.
The $2 billion paid for the Clippers — a team Sterling bought in 1981 for $12 million — far eclipsed the previous record price of $550 million paid for the Milwaukee Bucks just last April.”

Steve Ballmer attended his first home game as the new Los Angeles Clippers owner Wednesday Night and he saw a beauty.
“The Clippers who have struggled all preseason long, rose to the occasion and beat the Phoenix Suns 108-105.
Blake Griffin and Chris Paul combined for 69 points in last nights win. Griffin had 35 points and 7 rebounds, while Paul added 34 points, 9 assists, and four steals.
The stars stepped up big in the fourth quarter. The two of them scored 26 of the final 29 points for the Clippers as they led the way to victory.
Blake Griffin had this to say about the win according to ESPN.com and the Clippers offical website
“I’ve learned about individual guys,” Griffin said of the preseason, according to the Clippers’ website. “I’m really seeing what they do and what their tendencies are and what they’re going to really help us at. That’s promising, but I think your identity as a team, it’s tough to create that identity and learn a lot about your team within three weeks, four weeks, whatever it’s been.”
