J.J. Redick scored 17 points during his round of the 3-point contest:
“Redick made more than the 17 would indicate, but replay review had his foot on the line for at least three of the makes from deep, hurting his final score. In the end, Golden State’s Stephen Curry won the 3-point competition.
Before Redick ever started the competition, he joked about how he thought beforehand he might end up accidentally stepping on the line. So he said he actually wasn’t surprised when it happened.
“It’s like one of those things when you put it out in the universe, it’s just out in the universe,” Redick said. “Chris (Paul) since last year always jokes with me, I don’t shoot many long 2s with my foot on the line, but when I do, he gets on me. We have a little running joke about that, so whatever.”
